We don’t take a whole lot of pictures, therefore the camera on our smartphone is the only camera we need.  BUT if we did own a camera it would probably look something like the Fujifilm FinePix XP150.  Coming in March 2012, the camera takes the term “rugged” to a whole new level.  The XP150 uses it’s patented “Four-Way Protection” to bring you one light and durable piece of equipment; Waterproof to 33 ft, Shockproof to 6.5 ft, Freezeproof to 14 degrees Fahrenheit, and Dustproof.  We don’t know exactly how one would measure the amount of “dustproof” a piece of equipment can actually be.  The fact is, take it out in the dirt, drop it, spill some water on it, forget it in your backpack when you go snowboarding, it’s all good.

The folks at Fujifilm have expanded on their highly successful XP-Series to bring the XP150.  Besides all of the usual bells and whistles, (scene recognition, face recognition, auto red-eye removal, panorama mode, movie editing) the camera has been updated to provide an even better experience.  A bigger and better 2.7-inch LCD screen added on to five times zoom and faster auto focus speeds makes taking pictures a breeze.  The camera comes with enhanced HD operability, offering 1080p filming even underwater and a shift image stabilization that helps when your teeth are chattering in the Arctic while you’re taking your must-have photo.  But enough with all of that picture taking stuff, the coolest feature in this new camera is it’s built-in GPS.  The GPS system operates all throughout your picture taking adventures, offering cardinal directions through a compass and automatically geotagging your pictures.  And, if you have pictures saved on the camera you can use the navigation to guide you to the spot where tagged pictures were taken; this becomes particularly handy when you get to your car only to realize that you lost your keys somewhere along the way.

Oh, and it comes in five different colors.  Check it out.
