This is a review of the Idylis Ultrasonic Tabletop Humidifier. This was a personal purchase and not a media sample. Plug it in, fill it with water, turn it on and it works! That’s about all I can say because after testing the Idylis Humidifier for about a month now, we have had zero problems with it. It is very quiet. It does make some sound but it is minimal and within one night you will get used to the sound. It is low “white noise” at the most. Anything that disrupts your sleep is going to take time getting used to.
This model is designed for small to medium rooms. The physical size is 10″ wide x 15″ tall x 8″ deep. This Idylis Tabletop Humidifier is designed to cover 450 feet. We was tested for 30 nights in a bedroom that measures 15 x 20 (300 square feet). It is a 2.5 gallon output but I believe that means the mist it puts out in the room, not the amount of water it takes in. This humidifier only holds one gallon of water.
The tank holds one gallon of water so we keep an empty gallon water jug in the kitchen to refill it with. You want to make sure to always use distilled or filtered water in humidifiers. Regular tap water could buildup residue in the tank and electronics if the water isn’t filtered and run your humidifier. This is for any humidifier you purchase or own.
The Idylis Humidifier does require filling once or even twice a day when the humidity level is super low but any humidifier is going to need to be refilled that much, depending on how dry the air is in the room. When it needs to be refilled it will beep and automatically shut off which is convenient. It will also show a red indicator on the display.
The knobs next to the LED display either turn or push in and turn to make it easy to set the level. The bright blue lights on the display show you the mist level. It is made out of hard plastic and is very sturdy. It doesn’t require any filters which is a huge plus and it also saves you lots of money.
The front has a built-in handle that makes it easy to pick up and move from room to room. There is no need to remove the tank to fill it. You open the door on the top and unscrew the stopper and pour the water in. You don’t even need to turn it off to fill it. Because the tank is see-through you can keep an eye on the water level or just wait until it beeps to let you know it needs to be refilled.
The Idylis Humidifier has several speeds and levels of moisture it puts in the air. I crank on the highest level. A “white” cool mist will come out of the top so you will see it in the air. You may want to put your Idylis Humidifier on a stool or table and keep it away from furniture as the mist will stick to furniture over time and create a thin film.
Troubleshooting Tip: if you fill the tank with water and it gives you the “add water” message, make sure you have the humidifier on a level surface. You can also wipe off the small metal sensor on the tank bottom and the housing it sits in on the unit itself and it will recognize that the full tank. Once again, this could be caused by using unfiltered water.
We haven’t had this Idylis Humidifier leak even once. If you have leaking it could be that you don’t have it elevated and that is probably why we never had an issue with it. If it doesn’t stop leaking return it for a replacement.
