The time has come for us to start introducing you to books that we think you should be reading and we’re starting off with a great selection.  The Primal Blueprint by Mark Sisson is an outstanding book detailing the programming of the human body and how you can recapture you inner animal to totally transform your way of living, from fat loss to increased energy and general awesomeness.  Every week it seems like there’s a new diet parading around the news that is the answer to all of your problems.  Yet, where are they now?  Well, the “primal” way of living has been around for millions of years and there’s a reason for that…it works.  The book’s ideology works for everyone, from six-packers to keggers, and will open your eyes to the time being wasted on treadmills and in ridiculous diets.  The author uses ten “primal” laws that immediately go to work in reprogramming your body back to the way it was designed to function and operate.  At the core of the book is a focus on how the human body has evolved over millions of years and how we can use the history of our ancestors to bring ourselves back to the chiseled animals that we once were.  The “primal” laws are predicated on information that has literally been passed down for our entire existence and the book details them in a way that combines a sciencey, nerdy background with basic, easy-to-follow procedures.  (Personally, we like the sciencey, nerdy information behind the concepts but we understand if you’d rather just get to the point.)  Forget the diet fads that fade out within a week, Mark Sisson’s book offers tangible evidence through millions of years of trial and error.  The proof is in the pudding as they say.  Well, not really pudding in this book because that wouldn’t be very “primal” but you get the picture.

[...] 1.  Stop eating things out of boxes.  Somewhere along the way I don’t know what happened.  People decided that there was so little time in the day to cook real food that all of their meals started to come from boxes.  Cereal in the morning, something out of the vending machine for lunch, maybe some Hamburger Helper for dinner.  Mother Earth has provided us with highly nutritious food for a very long time and we’ve gotten good at utilizing it.  Stick with what your body knows and put more fresh ingredients down your gullet.  Vegetables, fruit, meat, nuts, water.
